Pitch Battle, the one-hour documentary following the Palestinian team’s maiden voyage to Australia, has won a 2016 New York Festivals World’s Best TV & Films award.
The documentary was up against stiff competition from a slew of international production companies and networks, including the BBC and ESPN.
New York Festival’s World’s Best TV & Films competition honours programming in all lengths and forms from over 50 countries.
It was announced at a gala function on April 19 in Las Vegas. Pitch Battle was aired in 2015, opening the ABC’s 2015 season of Foreign Correspondent. It has also won an award from the Australian Sports Commission and an Ellie award for best editing.
