The Indian Pacific features Australia’s longest raiul journey, spanning the continent from Perth to Sydney.
Filmed over four days and across 4,352km, The Indian Pacific is a slow TV documentary that explores the cultural, political and social history of Australia as train travels from the Indian Ocean to Sydney on the Pacific Ocean.
It reveals how critical the train was to joining the east and west coasts of Australia, and features fascinating and little-known stories such as the crash-landing of the NASA Skylab in the desolate Nullabor in 1979 as well as the natural history of this vast continent.
It was directed by Adam Kay, produced by Billy Baxter, written by Dan Goldberg and Nathan Barlow was Director of Photography. This documentary was funded by SBS with Flame as the distributor.
