Great Australian Walks with Julia Zemiro premiered to rave reviews and a bumper audience on SBS and SBS On Demand this week.
277,500 people tuned in on Thursday evening for episode one, which followed Julia Zemiro from Sorrento to Point Nepean (Victoria).
Produced by Mint Pictures, the 10-part series follows Zemiro as she criss-crosses the country on foot, meeting First Australians and new Australians, experts and locals. Along the way, she reveals untold stories…one step at a time.
“Great Australian Walks stands out because of the determination not to make it a travel magazine show, featuring five-star hotels, shiny restaurants and sanitised trips,” wrote The Age and SMH. “Zemiro tackles not only the scenic stuff … but the political as well.”
The West Australian added: “This visually stunning series sees her invite a host of notable people…to take a walk with her through some truly picturesque spots in NSW, Victoria, ACT and Tasmania.”
“This trek through nature and history is a breath of fresh air,” added The Geelong Advertiser.
Episodes 2-10 air every Thursday on SBS and SBS on Demand.
