SBS has commissioned Mint Pictures to produce another 10 episodes of Great Australian Walks.
Series 1, which was hosted by Julia Zemiro, premiered in August 2023 to rave reviews and became one of the highest-rating shows on the network.
SBS announced the commission of Series 2 at its Upfronts in Sydney, with Zemiro revealing a twist. The 10 walks will be split, with Zemiro recruiting two colleagues to share the spoils: actor and comedian Susie Youssef will host several episodes and ‘Alone’ winner Gina Chick will present some.
The spine of the series remains, however, with each of the three hosts crisscrossing the country on foot, meeting First Australians and new Australians, experts and locals, along the way revealing untold stories…one step at a time.
Series 2 is in pre-production and will air in 2024.
