A new six-part documentary series produced by Mint Pictures has been revealed at SBS’s Upfronts today.
‘Great Australian Road Trips’ follows two high-profile Australians as they venture off the beaten track and out of their comfort zones to reveal untold stories … one pit-stop at a time.
Inspired by ‘Great Australian Walks’, series 1 pairs food guru Melissa Leong and comedian Nazeem Hussain (who do three episodes) and actor Claudia Karvan and comedian Steph Tisdell (who also do three episodes).
With a nostalgic nod to this cultural rite of passage, series 1 follows the duos as they traverse iconic roadies in New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania.
Scheduled to air on SBS and SBS On Demand in 2025, the series is directed by Jodi Boylan, field produced by Kirrilly Brentnall and post-produced by Daniel Whelan. Executive producers are Craig Graham and Dan Goldberg.
