When The War is Over, Mint Pictures’ latest series, has been nominated for Best Documentary Series of the Year by the annual Screen Producers Australia (SPA) awards.
The nod for the five-part series comes hot on the heels of it also being nominated for Best Documentary/Factual series by the Australian International Documentary Conference awards.
When The War is Over, a Mint Pictures production in association with Magdalene Media, follows art-lover Rachel Griffiths as she puts art to the ultimate test – one artwork and one war at a time.
Two of the episodes – Vietnam and Gallipoli – were viewed by more than one million people.
The other finalists in the category are: End Game with Tony Armstrong (Allstory Pictures, Barking Mad Productions & Smashing Films, ABC); Muster Dogs: Collies & Kelpies (Ambience Entertainment, ABC); Revealed: Death Cap Murders (Dreamchaser Entertainment & Den of Martians, Stan); The Assembly S2 (Helium Pictures & Bus Stop Films, ABC); The Kimberley (Wild Pacific Media, ABC); The People Vs Robodebt (CJZ, SBS); The Piano S1 (Eureka Productions, ABC); When The War Is Over (Mint Pictures in association with Magdalene Media, ABC).
The winners will be announced at the gala awards night on the Gold Coast on April 30.
The winners off the AIDC awards will be announced on March 5.
