The Hunt for the Last Nazis has been longlisted for the Walkley Award for Best Documentary.

The judges announced six documentaries, including The Hunt For The Last Nazis.

They are: Journey Home, David Gulpilil; Sentient; Silenced; Matter of Facts; and We Are Jeni.

The three finalists will be announced on October 15, along with all the other Walkley finalists.

It comes on the back of five other nominations for Mint’s film about Australia’s last-ditch attempt to hunt down alleged Nazi war criminals who hid in this country.

The other nominations are: The Association of International Broadcasting Awards, The Asian TV Awards, The Buzzies Awards, New York International Film Awards, and Cannes World Film Festival Award. The documentary won the Cannes award in May, the same month the film premiered on SBS.

The Walkleys are the annual Australian journalism prize that honours excellence, independence and courage in media reporting.

Mint won the Walkley for Best Documentary in 2014 for Code of Silence, an expose into the child sex abuse scandal inside the Orthodox community in Melbourne.
