‘Breaking the Silence’, from the producer and director of ABC’s Walkley award-winning ‘Code of Silence’, is an explosive courtroom drama set inside the February 2015 Royal Commission hearing into the Melbourne and Sydney Chabad Yeshivahs.
It unfolds in three main acts: the explosive revelations from the Royal Commission, including secret and incriminating tape recordings from a new victim; the dramatic fallout, in which many rabbis resign while others stubbornly cling to their posts; and following Manny Waks’s trail to New York where he confronts his second perpetrator, hoping to close the book on this horrific scandal, and on to Los Angeles to meet another convicted Jewish pedophile who fled Australia.
