This two-part, blue-chip documentary series for ABC and BBC (re-titled ‘Rebels of Oz’) was hosted by Booker Prize-winner Howard Jacobson, and follows the story of four of Australia’s greatest cultural exports: Germaine Greer, Clive James, Barry Humphries and Robert Hughes.
Brilliant Creatures was nominated for an AACTA award in 2014, a Logie Award in 2015 and it won the 2015 NSW Premier’s Award in 2015. Rebels of Oz was nominated for a prestigious Grierson Award in the UK.
It was a co-production with Serendipity Productions.
