‘Brilliant Creatures: Germaine, Clive, Barry & Bob,’ a two-part documentary for ABC and BBC, has been officially selected to screen at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival in June.

The screening, which will be ahead of its transmission on BBC and ABC, will be held at the Crucible Theatre on June 10, and will be followed by a Q&A featuring Germaine Greer and Howard Jacobson [DO HYPERLINK TO THIS: http://www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk/event/brilliant-creatures-14/]

In the two-part, prime-time series, Jacobson, a Booker Prize-winning author, follows the meteoric rise of four of Australia’s greatest exports: feminist Germaine Greer, satirist Barry Humphries, art critic Robert Hughes, and poet and prolific writer Clive James.

A co-production between Mint Pictures and Serendipity Productions, ‘Brilliant Creatures’ was filmed in London, Cambridge, New York, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sydney and Melbourne. It was directed by Paul Clarke (‘Whitlam’, ‘Wide Open Road’, ‘Mother of Rock’), and financed by ABC, ABC Commercial, BBC, TCB, Screen Australia and Screen NSW.

The Sheffield International Documentary Festival, which claims to be among the top three documentary festivals in the world, is in its 21st year. In 2013, it presented over 100 films and 80 sessions with more than 2500 film, TV and digital delegates from some 60 countries.
