‘Bushwhacked!’, the hit TV series created by Mint Pictures, has been recommissioned by ABC TV for a second adrenaline-filled season.
The 13-part adventure series follows two hosts, one Indigenous and one non-Indigenous, as they crisscross Australia in search of endangered wildlife and Indigenous rites and rituals.
Mint Pictures’ Head of Factual Dan Goldberg said: “We are thrilled by the response to series one of ‘Bushwhacked!’ and are looking forward to filming in remote parts of Australia to bring more endangered wildlife, high-octane adventure and rich Indigenous culture to the screen.”
The success of ‘Bushwhacked!’ is not limited to Australia, with series one aired by ABC3 and NITV.
The Australian Children’s TV Foundation, which is an executive producer and the international distributor, has already sold series one to Discovery Asia, Super RTL in Germany and to Middle East Media.
Season two is funded by the ABC TV, ACTF, Screen NSW, Screen Queensland, ABC Commercial and The Pratt Foundation.
The crew will start shooting the 13-part series next month and it will air in 2014.
