Bushwhacked! – the smash hit kids’ TV series created by Mint Pictures – has been nominated for two ATOM awards.
Series 1 of Bushwhacked! was nominated for best children’s TV series and best factual TV series.
Mint Pictures’ Dan Goldberg, executive producer of Bushwhacked!, said the nominations were another validation of what has become a growing TV brand.
“To be a finalist in the best children’s TV category is obviously very gratifying, but to also be a finalist for the best factual series – alongside the likes of the ‘Whitlam’ series on ABC1 – exceeds all expectations and is a huge vindication for the series.”
The ATOM awards recognise film and media excellence in education and industry.
Bushwhacked! premiered on ABC3 in October 2012, followed by screenings on NITV. It has been sold internationally by the Australian Children’s TV Foundation to Discovery Asia, Middle East Media and Super RTL in Germany.
It was financed by Screen NSW, Screen Tasmania, Screen Territory and Screen Queensland.
On the back of its success, ABC commissioned Bushwhacked! series 2, which is now currently in production.
