Food Fighter, the inspirational story of one Australian woman’s crusade against the global scandal of food waste, will have its gala premiere at Sydney’s State Theatre on Sunday June 3, ahead of World Environment Day.
The premiere of Mint Pictures’ feature-length documentary will be followed by a cinema release around the country.
Food Fighter has screened at the Transitions Film Festival in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and will screen in Adelaide. It will also screen at the Human Rights Arts Film Festival in Melbourne and Canberra in May and at the BOFA Film Festival in Tasmania, also in May.
It has also been officially selected by the Around Films International Film Festival in Barcelona, Spain, and A Show For A Change Film Festival in Los Angeles, California, where it won the 2018 Social Impact Award.
Filmed over two years and across four continents, Food Fighter follows OzHarvest founder Ronni Kahn’s crusade against food waste as she partners with the United Nations in Bangkok, rubs shoulders with British royalty and Jamie Oliver’s juggernaut in London, and holds the government to account in Australia.
A Mint Pictures production, Food Fighter was produced and directed by Dan Goldberg, with Executive Producers Adam Kay and Simon Nasht. It was produced with the assistance of Screen Australia.
