The article in Media Week:
North One Television, a leading independent production company, has announced the sale of its subsidiary company North One Australia.
Adam Kay, current head of programming at the Asia-Pacific arm of the business which is based in Sydney, has acquired the company from North One Television (part of the All3Media Group) and will focus on continued creative growth and expansion in that region.
North One Australia first opened its doors in 2007 and has produced an array of sport, entertainment and factual programming for numerous broadcasters including Network Ten, The Nine Network, SBS, ABC and Foxtel, as well as for sporting organisations including Tennis Australia, Cricket Australia, Football Federation Australia and the Australian Paralympic Committee.
Adam Kay will be taking the business forward under the new name Mint Pictures and will continue to penetrate the Australian market and Asia-Pacific region as a whole.
‘‘Since 1994 I have had the pleasure of working primarily with North One (formerly Chrysalis TV) and in the short time we’ve been in Australia we have produced quality story-telling in numerous genres – from the hit ABC3 indigenous kids TV series Bushwhacked! which is currently in development for series 2, to the runaway success of the reality TV seriesFootball Superstar and Cricket Superstar for Foxtel,” said Kay, the Managing Director of Mint Pictures.
“I’m very excited about the future and my partnership with long-standing colleague Dan Goldberg – our philosophy of producing innovative content in a creative style will remain the blueprint of the new media company.”
North One Television’s COO Neil Bailey said: “We would like to thank Adam and his team for all of their hard work over the last five-and-a-half years. We wish him the very best of luck and continued success for the future. We think Adam and his team are ideally placed to take advantage of their strong relationships and reputation in the local market and North One Television will continue to focus on the UK broadcast market and other international opportunities particularly in the US.”
