‘Streets Of Your Town’, the two-part ABC Arts series on the postwar transformation of our homes, has won the ATOM Award for Best Factual TV series.
The series – hosted by comedian, broadcaster and Modernist aficionado Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross – was selected at a ceremony in Melbourne last night.
It was up against Todd Sampson’s ‘Life On The Line’, ‘Martin Clunes: Islands of Australia’ and ‘Family Rules’.
‘Streets Of Your Town’ was also a finalist in the Best Arts Documentary category, which was won by ‘One Shot: An Image and An Attitude’.
‘Streets’ was directed by Sally Aitken, who also won the Director’s Guild and Writer’s Guild awards for the blue-chip series.
The ATOM Awards have been held annually for 35 years, and are dedicated to recognising film and media excellence in the education sector and the screen industry. This year, over 550 entries were received in multiple categories from Australian and New Zealand filmmakers.
