Pitch Battle, the one-hour Mint Pictures/ABC production following the Palestinian football team’s maiden visit to Australia in January, won the editing award for documentary (short form) at the 10th Australian Screen Editors awards in Sydney.

Editors Garth Thomas and Anna Craney won the 2015 prize, beating editors from three other documentaries – Changing Minds, Uranium and Sperm Donors.

Pitch Battle, screened as the premiere of Foreign Correspondent on ABC in April, also won an Australian Sports Commission award last week in Melbourne.

It follows the human story behind the war-torn team who love football but struggle to compete on a level playing field.

The documentary is available on ABC’s iView until December 16. To view it click here: http://iview.abc.net.au/programs/pitch-battle-palestines-political-football/FR1508A001S00
