Strictly Jewish has been nominated for two Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) Awards.
The one-hour documentary was the highest-rating of the Untold Australia season screened by SBS in April, amassing over 500,000 viewers.
Produced by Mint Pictures, Strictly Jewish was the first time TV cameras were given access inside the extremely reclusive Adass Israel sect, Australia’s most ultra-Orthodox Jewish community. For more than one year, the documentary followed three members of this subculture as they strive to keep their ancient faith in the modern era.
It is nominated for best documentary (social & political issues) and best documentary (general). In social & political, it is up against Another Country, Candidate Games and The Family. In general, it is up against Constance on the Edge, Bespoke and Another Country.
Strictly Jewish has also been nominated for a Screen Producers of Australia award.
