John Eales Reveals: The Haka has received an award at the 2018 New York Festivals International TV and Film awards.
The Haka was awarded the Bronze World Medal in the Sport & Recreation category at a gala event in Las Vegas on April 10.
The one-hour documentary for the Discovery Network followed Eales to New Zealand in a bid to make peace with his past: in 1996, he led the Wallabies in snubbing the Maori Haka before a Test match in New Zealand against the All Blacks – a decision he has regretted for two decades.
Launched in 1957, the New York Festivals Television & Film Awards competition honours programming in all lengths and forms from over 50 countries.
The Haka was a finalist in the Australian Sports Commission awards earlier this year.
