The Pool, Mint’s two-part series on the social history of Australia told through the prism of the humble swimming pool, has been nominated in two categories for best documentary at the annual ATOM awards.

The Pool has been nominated for best documentary (general) as well as best documentary (social and political issues).

It is up against The Final Quarter, the archive-only doco on Adam Goodes, in both categories.

The winners will be announced on November 26.

The Pool was directed by Sally Aitken, produced by Dan Goldberg and executive produced by Adam Kay. It was funded by Screen Australia, ABC Regional & Local, and Create NSW.

Since 1982, the Australian Teachers of Media Awards have celebrated the best of Australian and New Zealand screen content from the education sector and media industries.

This year, nearly forty diverse categories span film, television, animation, documentaries and educational websites and videos.
